Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup additional shredded cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Spray the inside of the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Transfer the hashbrown mixture into the crockpot and spread it evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the hashbrowns are cooked through and hot.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the additional shredded cheese on top and cover to allow it to melt.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting meal!

Notes

  • You can add cooked bacon or sausage for extra flavor.
  • Feel free to substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom for a vegetarian option.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
