- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add the cooked beef to the crockpot along with chopped onion and garlic.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and beef broth.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve hot with optional toppings.
Notes
- For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- This chili can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
