Description

This hearty crockpot chili made with ground beef is perfect for a cozy dinner. Easy to prepare and packed with flavor, it’s a family favorite!


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the cooked beef to the crockpot along with chopped onion and garlic.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and beef broth.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Serve hot with optional toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • This chili can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
