Description

A simple and flavorful dish made with sausage and bell peppers, cooked slowly in a crockpot for maximum taste.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
  • 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausages in a pan over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove and slice.
  2. Place sliced bell peppers, onions, and garlic in the crockpot.
  3. Add the sliced sausages on top.
  4. Pour in diced tomatoes and chicken broth.
  5. Sprinkle with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  7. Serve hot, optionally with crusty bread or over rice.

  • Use any type of sausage you prefer.
  • Add crushed red pepper for extra heat.
