A simple recipe for a tender and juicy whole chicken cooked in a crockpot.
Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken (4–5 lbs)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon, halved
- 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by removing any giblets and patting it dry.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Place the onion and lemon inside the cavity of the chicken.
- Put the chicken in the crockpot and add rosemary on top.
- Pour chicken broth around the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Carefully remove the chicken from the crockpot and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken overnight.
- Use the leftover broth for soup or gravy.
- Store any leftover chicken in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
