A delicious and indulgent breakfast dish featuring buttery croissants soaked in a rich custard and topped with fresh berries.

- 4 croissants (preferably day-old)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
- for dusting powdered sugar
- for frying butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Cut each croissant in half horizontally and dip them into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for a few seconds on each side.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little butter to coat the bottom.
- Place the soaked croissants cut-side down in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Transfer the cooked croissants to a baking sheet and finish baking in the oven for about 10 minutes.
- While the croissants are baking, prepare the fresh berries by washing and slicing them as needed.
- Serve the croissant French toast warm, topped with fresh berries and dusted with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can mix in a tablespoon of orange zest into the egg mixture.
- Feel free to substitute the mixed berries with your favorite fruits.
- Serve with maple syrup or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
