- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Bake as directed on the box.
- While warm, poke holes in the cake with a fork.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, letting it soak in.
- Combine coconut, pecans, butter, evaporated milk, sugar, and egg yolks in a saucepan. Cook until thickened.
- Spread the coconut-pecan mixture over the cake.
- Let cool before serving.
