Description
A simple and delicious General Tso Chicken recipe that’s quick to make at home. Perfect for a weeknight dinner with a sweet and spicy sauce.

- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss chicken with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
- Add brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
- Return chicken to the pan and coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and serve over rice.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken after marinating.
- Adjust red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
- Substitute chicken thighs with breast if preferred.
