Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • ½ cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat water, sugar, salt, and oil until boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 375°F.
  5. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  6. Fry until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll warm churros in the mixture.
  8. For the sauce, heat cream and pour over chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  9. Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce.
