Ingredients

- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a skillet and stir in brown sugar. Cook until bubbly.
- Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan and arrange pecans on top.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Alternate adding flour mixture and milk to the egg mixture.
- Pour batter over pecans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.

- Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
