  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A collection of delightful and simple dessert recipes that can be made quickly, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth in no time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 cup ml Light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup ml Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red gel food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon extract (optional)
  • 6 Medium apples
  • 6 Wooden sticks
  • to taste Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Set up your workspace: line a baking sheet with parchment paper and coat it with non-stick cooking spray. Prepare your apples with sticks.
  2. Remove wax from apples by dipping in boiling water for 5 seconds and scrubbing dry.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; stir just until moistened. Clip a candy thermometer to the pan.
  4. Bring to a rolling boil without stirring. Wipe down any sugar crystals from the sides of the pan with a wet pastry brush.
  5. Boil until the thermometer reads between 300°F and 310°F (149°C–154°C). This takes about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once at temperature, remove from heat, stir in food coloring and cinnamon extract, and allow bubbles to settle for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Dip each apple into the syrup, coating evenly, and place on the prepared baking sheet to cool completely for at least 20 minutes.

Notes

  • If coating is sticky or chewy, the syrup didn’t reach the hard crack stage.
  • Wait for bubbles to settle before dipping to avoid a cloudy finish.
  • Store at room temperature and consume within 1-2 days for best texture.
  • Best made on cool, dry days to prevent tacky coating.
