Description

Classic French Dip Beef Sandwiches with tender roast beef and savory au jus for dipping.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
  • 4 French rolls or hoagie buns
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare au jus by mixing gravy packet with water in a small saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Butter the inside of each roll and toast in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add roast beef to the au jus and warm for 2 minutes.
  5. Place beef on rolls, top with cheese if using, and return to oven for 1-2 minutes to melt.
  6. Serve with small bowls of au jus for dipping.

  • Use high-quality deli roast beef for best results.
  • Add sautéed onions for extra flavor.
