  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender beef, savory French onion flavor, and egg noodles, perfect for a cozy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and beef stew meat to the skillet, cooking until the beef is browned on all sides.
  3. Pour in the beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Cover and reduce heat to low, cooking for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
  5. Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Once the beef is tender, stir in the cooked noodles until well combined.
  7. Serve hot, topped with shredded Swiss cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine to the broth.
  • This dish can be made in a slow cooker; just combine all ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
