Description

A delicious and easy-to-make French toast breakfast casserole perfect for brunch.


Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bread, cut into cubes
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Place bread cubes in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  7. Before baking, drizzle maple syrup over the top and sprinkle with nuts if using.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
