- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
- Blend in cocoa powder and red food coloring.
- Fold in flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture onto the brownie batter. Swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use room-temperature eggs for best results.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep brownies fudgy.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
