Ingredients

- 1 (12 oz) ribeye steak
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the steak dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Reduce heat, add butter, garlic, and thyme to the pan.
- Baste the steak with melted butter for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

- Let the steak rest to retain juices.
