  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Royal icing for decoration
  • Colored sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into tree shapes.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool completely before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles.
