Description

These gingerbread thumbprint cookies are soft, spiced cookies filled with sweet frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  6. Shape the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Make an indentation in the center of each ball with your thumb.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool completely.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make frosting, then fill each cookie.
