- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 pita bread rounds
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Mix chicken with olive oil, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let marinate for 30 minutes.
- Cook chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- Combine yogurt, grated cucumber, and lemon juice to make tzatziki sauce.
- Warm pita bread in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce in pita bread.
- Fold and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cumin to the marinade.
- Use Greek yogurt for a thicker tzatziki sauce.
- Letting the chicken marinate longer enhances the taste.
