Description
This grilled black cod recipe features a rich, buttery flavor enhanced by a zesty lemon herb butter that takes the dish to another level. Perfect for a summer barbecue or a cozy dinner at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 black cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, dill, thyme, and minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.
- Brush the black cod fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the fillets on the grill, skin side down. Grill for about 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip and grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- During the last minute of grilling, spoon some of the lemon herb butter over the fillets to melt.
- Remove the fillets from the grill and serve immediately with additional lemon herb butter on top.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh herbs for the lemon herb butter.
- Make sure the grill is preheated before adding the fish to prevent sticking.
- You can also use a grill basket if you’re worried about the fish falling apart.
