Ingredients

- 1 ham bone
- 4 cups of water
- 2 cups of diced vegetables (carrots, celery, onions)
- 1 cup of diced potatoes
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Place the ham bone in a large pot.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Add vegetables, potatoes, garlic powder, black pepper, bay leaves, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Remove the ham bone, shred meat, and return it to the pot.
- Simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This soup can be frozen for later use.
