Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Hawaiian-style teriyaki chicken dish that combines sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Add chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and cook until browned on both sides.
- Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the chicken with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
- You can add pineapple chunks to the dish for a more authentic Hawaiian touch.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
