Description

A delicious and hearty meal featuring tender chicken cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic butter sauce, served alongside creamy mac & cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add honey and stir until well combined.
  6. Return chicken to the pan and coat evenly with the sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. In a separate saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk.
  8. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until smooth.
  9. Mix cheese sauce with cooked macaroni.
  10. Serve chicken over mac & cheese and drizzle with extra honey garlic sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce.
  • Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
