Description
These crispy homemade chicken nuggets are a delicious and easy-to-make treat, perfect for kids and adults alike. With a golden-brown coating and tender chicken inside, they make a great snack or meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) to keep the nuggets warm while you fry the rest.
- In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken nuggets in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked nuggets to a baking sheet and keep them warm in the preheated oven while frying the remaining chicken.
Notes
- Feel free to add your favorite spices to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
- For a healthier option, you can bake the nuggets in the oven instead of frying them. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
