Description
Crispy and delicious homemade fries made easily in an air fryer. Perfectly seasoned and healthier than traditional fried potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Place the seasoned fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade fries!
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, you can soak the potatoes longer or try double frying.
- Adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Add chili powder for a spicy kick or cheese powder for cheesy fries.
- Store any leftover fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer.
