A classic Kentucky dish originating from the Brown Hotel, this Hot Brown is a delicious open-faced sandwich topped with turkey, bacon, and Mornay sauce.

- 4 slices of Texas toast
- 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
- 4 slices of cooked bacon
- 2 cups Mornay sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a baking dish, place the slices of Texas toast in a single layer.
- Top each slice with sliced turkey breast.
- Pour the Mornay sauce evenly over the turkey.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Add 2 slices of bacon on each sandwich.
- Sprinkle paprika over the top for added flavor and color.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can make the Mornay sauce from scratch or use a pre-made version for convenience.
- Feel free to substitute turkey with chicken if preferred.
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the Mornay sauce.
