These Kentucky sliders are a delicious twist on the classic Hot Brown, featuring layers of turkey, bacon, and a creamy Mornay sauce, all served on slider buns.

- 1 lb sliced turkey breast
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 slider buns
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
- Layer the turkey slices evenly over the buns, then add the crumbled bacon.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the turkey and bacon, ensuring even coverage.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Place the top halves of the slider buns on top and cover with foil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add sliced tomatoes or jalapeños for extra flavor.
- These sliders are best served warm but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
