Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a pan, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  3. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add peas and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  7. Spread mashed potatoes over the beef mixture.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve with brown bread.
  • Can substitute ground lamb for beef.
  • Top with cheese before baking for extra flavor.
