A traditional Irish soda bread recipe that is easy to make and delicious.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf.
- Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Store leftovers in a bread bag to keep it fresh.
- Serve warm with butter or jam.
- For a sweeter bread, add raisins or currants.
