  • Beef – 2 lbs
  • Butter – 1/2 cup

  • Irish stout – 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes and carrots.
  2. Slice the cabbage and onions.
  3. In a large pot, add the beef and cover with water.
  4. Bring to a boil and skim off any foam.
  5. Add potatoes, carrots, onions, and seasoning.
  6. Simmer for 1.5 hours.
  7. Add cabbage and stout and cook for another 30 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with butter on top.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, replace beef with lentils.
