  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 package (3 oz) jello (any flavor)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and bake according to package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. While the cake is cooling, prepare the jello according to package directions. Dissolve the jello powder in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
  6. Using a fork or skewer, poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake.
  7. Pour the prepared jello mixture evenly over the top of the cake, making sure to fill the holes.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the jello to set.
