Juicy hamburger steaks smothered in a rich caramelized onion sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form into patties.
- Heat oil in a pan and cook patties until browned, then set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and stir.
- Add beef broth and mustard, then simmer until thickened.
- Return patties to the pan, coat with sauce, and serve.
Notes
- Use lean beef for juicier patties.
- Cook onions on low heat for best caramelization.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
