Juicy hamburger steaks smothered in a rich caramelized onion sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form into patties.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and cook patties until browned, then set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
  5. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir.
  6. Add beef broth and mustard, then simmer until thickened.
  7. Return patties to the pan, coat with sauce, and serve.
