Description
A classic Southern dessert that’s perfect for celebrating the Kentucky Derby. This Bourbon Pecan Pie combines a rich, buttery filling with crunchy pecans and a hint of bourbon for a delicious treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecan halves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in the pecans until they are evenly coated with the filling.
- Pour the pecan mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving. The pie can be served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark corn syrup instead of light corn syrup.
- You can substitute the bourbon with a non-alcoholic vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version.
- This pie can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
