Description

A classic Key Lime Pie with a creamy and tangy filling, a buttery graham cracker crust, and topped with fresh whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup Key lime juice
  • 1 can (14 ounces) Sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 large Egg yolks
  • for topping Whipped cream
  • for garnish Lime zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, and egg yolks until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and spread evenly.
  7. Bake the pie for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until set.
  8. Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with lime zest.

Notes

  • Use fresh key limes for the best flavor. If unavailable, bottled key lime juice can be used.
  • To make the crust firmer, you can bake it a little longer.
  • For a smoother filling, make sure to whisk the ingredients well.
