Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add asparagus and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but crisp.
  4. Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Toss in drained pasta, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve warm.
