Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour, shaking off the excess.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it in the lemon sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve this lemon chicken with rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
- Feel free to add more lemon juice or zest for a tangier flavor.
- You can also marinate the chicken in lemon juice for a couple of hours before cooking for extra flavor.
