Description
Creamy and fluffy mashed potatoes enriched with butter, perfect as a side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are recommended for the best texture.)
- 1/2 cup Butter (Unsalted butter, melted.)
- 1/2 cup Milk (Whole milk or heavy cream for extra creaminess.)
- to taste Salt (Adjust based on preference.)
- to taste Pepper (Freshly ground black pepper recommended.)
Instructions
- Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks.
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.
- Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Allow to steam for a minute to remove excess moisture.
- Add the melted butter and milk to the potatoes. Mash using a potato masher or hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional butter if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding garlic, cream cheese, or sour cream.
- Make sure to drain the potatoes well to avoid watery mashed potatoes.
