Description

Creamy and fluffy mashed potatoes enriched with butter, perfect as a side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are recommended for the best texture.)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (Unsalted butter, melted.)
  • 1/2 cup Milk (Whole milk or heavy cream for extra creaminess.)
  • to taste Salt (Adjust based on preference.)
  • to taste Pepper (Freshly ground black pepper recommended.)

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.
  3. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Allow to steam for a minute to remove excess moisture.
  5. Add the melted butter and milk to the potatoes. Mash using a potato masher or hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional butter if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding garlic, cream cheese, or sour cream.
  • Make sure to drain the potatoes well to avoid watery mashed potatoes.
