  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Refreshingly sweet and minty, this classic cocktail is perfect for serving a crowd. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious pitcher of mint juleps to enjoy on a warm day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups bourbon
  • Crushed ice
  • Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Once the simple syrup is cool, add the mint leaves and muddle gently to release the oils. Let it steep for about 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the mint leaves from the syrup and discard the leaves.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the mint syrup and bourbon. Stir well to combine.
  5. To serve, fill glasses with crushed ice and pour the mint julep mixture over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs.

Notes

  • For a stronger mint flavor, let the mint steep in the syrup for longer.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the syrup.
  • Serve immediately after mixing for the best flavor and freshness.
