- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet and cut a cross on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- Store leftovers in a bread bag.
- Can be served with butter or jam.
