Description
This rich and creamy chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert to surprise your mom this Mother’s Day. It’s easy to make and incredibly delicious, making it a great way to show your love.

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream over low heat until it begins to steam. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until pale and fluffy.
- Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg yolk mixture, stirring until well combined.
- In another bowl, whip the remaining 1/2 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated.
- Divide the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Garnish with whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, skip any liqueurs or extracts that contain alcohol.
- You can add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
