- 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (for serving)
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
- Fresh berries (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cubed French bread to the egg mixture and gently stir until well combined. Make sure all bread cubes are soaked in the mixture.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the bread mixture from the refrigerator and pour it into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries.
