Simple recipe for pan seared scallops.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound scallops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 lemon, juiced
Instructions
- Pat the scallops dry with a paper towel.
- Season scallops with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add scallops to the skillet, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip scallops and add butter to the skillet.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes while basting with butter.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice.
Notes
- Make sure scallops are dry for a good sear.
- Do not overcrowd the pan.
