Ingredients

- 12 large sea scallops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Pat the scallops dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add scallops to the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
- Flip scallops and add butter to the skillet.
- Spoon butter over scallops while cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the scallops are dry for a good sear.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet.
- Use fresh scallops for best flavor.
