A warm and delicious peach cobbler that combines fresh peaches with a buttery, flaky crust.

- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
- Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a classic dessert.
- Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor. Canned peaches can be used but may alter the texture.
