- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and cinnamon.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
