Description
A delicious caramelized pear tart that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for any dessert lover.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until it begins to caramelize, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced pears, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pears are tender and coated in caramel.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit your tart pan. Place the pastry in the pan and trim any excess.
- Arrange the caramelized pears evenly over the pastry.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For an extra touch, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- You can substitute the pears with apples or peaches if preferred.
