- 1 prime rib roast (4–5 lbs)
- 4 tbsp softened butter
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Mix butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Rub mixture evenly over the roast.
- Place roast fat-side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Roast for 15 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 325°F and cook until internal temperature reaches 120°F (about 15 minutes per pound).
- Remove from oven and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Slice and serve.
