Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup protein powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon baking soda (for boiling)
- Sesame seeds (for topping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the bread flour, protein powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add the sourdough starter and water. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each into a bagel.
- Boil water in a large pot and add baking soda.
- Boil each bagel for 1 minute on each side.
- Place bagels on a baking sheet and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Store bagels in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- These bagels freeze well for longer storage.
