- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1/2 cup protein powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon baking soda (for boiling)
- Toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter and warm water.
- Add bread flour, protein powder, honey, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into bagels.
- Boil water in a large pot, add baking soda.
- Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side, then place on a baking sheet.
- Top with seeds if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
