A visually stunning and delicious purple velvet cake roll filled with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients

- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Purple food coloring
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- Beat eggs until thick and pale yellow (about 5 minutes). Gradually add sugar, water, and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold into egg mixture.
- Add purple food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Turn cake onto clean towel dusted with powdered sugar. Roll cake and towel together while warm.
- Cool completely. Unroll, spread frosting, and reroll without towel.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant purple color
- Don’t overbake – cake should spring back when touched
- Chill rolled cake before serving for cleaner slices
