Description

Indulge in this rich and gooey chocolate lava cake that oozes molten chocolate at first bite. Perfect for a special occasion or a simple dessert craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks to the chocolate mixture, mixing well. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cakes sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate.
  9. Serve immediately, and enjoy the molten center!

Notes

  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious contrast.
  • Make sure not to overbake the cakes; the center should remain gooey.
